This policy applies to the Shopify merchants who install the App ("Merchants") and their customers who interact with the App ("Customers").

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Information from Merchants: When you install the App, we automatically access certain information from your Shopify account, such as your name, email address, and store information. We also collect the minimum necessary billing information required by Shopify to process your subscription payments.
  • Information from Your Customers: When a Customer interacts with the Clerkmate.ai assistant on your storefront, we may collect their name, email address, and the content of their inquiries and conversations with the AI assistant.
  • Knowledge Base Information: We process the data you provide to train your AI assistant, which may include your Shopify product and collection data, as well as information from any files, URLs, or text you upload.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the App's services.
  • To train and personalize the AI assistant for your specific store.
  • To process your subscription payments and manage your account.
  • To enable you to review conversation transcripts and analytics.
  • To communicate with you about your account and provide support.
  • To comply with legal obligations and Shopify's requirements.

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Sub-processors

We do not sell your personal information. However, to provide our service, we may share information with third-party service providers (sub-processors) who perform services on our behalf. Our key sub-processors include:

  • Google Gemini: To process conversational data and generate AI responses.
  • ElevenLabs: To provide voice and audio functionalities for the AI assistant.
  • Twilio: To send transactional emails and notifications.
  • Render: For secure cloud hosting and database storage.

We have agreements with these sub-processors to ensure they protect the data they process for us.

4. Data Security

We are committed to protecting the security of your information. We implement reasonable security measures to protect data from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. This includes measures such as encryption of data at rest.

5. Data Retention

We retain data for the following periods:

  • Customer Conversation Data: Conversation transcripts and related analytics are automatically deleted from our systems 90 days after they are created.
  • Merchant Account Information: We retain your account information for as long as the App is installed. If you uninstall the App, we will delete your information within 90 days.

6. Your Rights

You and your Customers have certain rights regarding your personal information. Subject to local law, these rights may include:

  • Right to Access: The right to request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Erasure (Deletion): The right to request that we delete your personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, both Merchants and their Customers may contact us by emailing admin@teipedigital.com or by using the support form within the App. We will respond to requests in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ. By using our App, you consent to this transfer.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by email or through the App's interface. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
